CYC Staff Spotlight: Meet The Millers
Matt and Erica Miller are excited to be the new co-chairpersons for the CYC planning committee! As husband and wife, we know they will work well together, combining their complementary skills and interests with enthusiasm and passion for CYC. Continue reading to learn more!
Matt Miller, commonly known as “Miller”, is the husband in this planning chair duo. He and his lovely wife have been married for six years and they have two adorable little boys: George, 3.5 years old, and Charles, 2 years old.
Miller is a man of many hobbies. He has enjoyed photography for several years now and is currently the designated CYC photographer. He also enjoys bee keeping and is excited to expand his honeybee colony from one hive to two or three hives next spring. More recently, he has taken up the craft of woodworking and has completed many projects around the house, including planter boxes, shelves, and a toddler bed.
Miller has been involved with CYC since he was a first year camper in 2001. He completed three years as a camper, SIT and CIT years, and several years as a senior counselor. He was the treasurer for many years as well and was a major player in the transition to our 501c3 status. He also spent four years in the Judson directors’ hut as the assistant director to Chris Boewe.
On weekdays, Matt Miller is a product owner at Fidelity Investments. On Sundays, he and his family worship with Bedford Road Baptist Church in Merrimack, New Hampshire.
Erica (Randall) Miller is the wife in this planning chair duo. Although she and her husband were both first year campers at CYC in 2001, they officially met a few months later, when they participated in the Youth Leader Corp (YLC) program. Many years later, they became close friends and eventually married.
Erica works diligently to care for her sons, George and Charles, as a stay at home mom. Previously, she was a speech-language pathologist at New England Pediatric Services. She hopes to return to her job there some day, but for now, she enjoys as much time as possible with her boys.
At CYC, Erica completed three years as a camper, SIT and CIT years, and several years as a senior counselor. She was the Hasseltine director for two years, before her first son was born. She has voluntarily attended many planning committee meetings for many years and has served as the evening programs coordinator for the past three years.
Prior to the Coronavirus pandemic, Erica was enjoying a return to her favorite pastime, playing soccer. She longs for the day she can safely return to the turf to play again. Her job as a mom is seven days a week, of course, but on Sundays, she enjoys the opportunity to worship with Bedford Road Baptist Church in Merrimack, NH.
